WORKPLAN

WP1 [Months 1-18 ] & WP2 [Months19-36] - Project Management - Leader: CSM SPA

The goal is to ensure effective project management and coordination, guaranteeing efficient implementation, financial control, quality, risk management, and compliance with the obligations of the Grant Agreement (GA), as well as smooth communication between partners. Additionally, it aims to provide effective scientific, technical, and strategic planning, proper resource monitoring, and data management in accordance with FAIR principles and GDPR regulations.

4 Deliverables

WP3  [Months 1-14] - Analysis of the Requirements – UC design - Leader: ADV

The analysis of the industrial scenario will lead to the finalization of baseline use cases, defining technological requirements and KPIs for optimizing the steelmaking process to reduce environmental impact and ensure quality throughout the steel value chain. Additionally, it will establish technological requirements to enhance knowledge of material properties' effects on steel products and define specifications for data exchange and DMP/DPP requirements across the value chain.

2 Deliverables, 1 Milestone

WP4 [Months 3-18] -  SW environment design and modules definition - Leader:  SYXIS VSI

The overall software framework will be defined, including the architecture of the SMARTChain platform for both steelmakers and steel users. This will involve specifying different modules for data collection, management, and presentation, access control, blockchain-based security for key twin lifecycle data, and interaction with data spaces to expand SMARTChain’s applicability. Additionally, AI/ML algorithms and models will be developed for integration into the software framework.

5 Deliverables, 2 Milestones

WP5 [Months 10-31] - Digital tools for ensure a higher steel quality and a lower  enivironmental impact - Leader: CSM SPA

The goal is to optimize steel properties to better meet user requirements while leveraging digitalization and data integration to reduce environmental impact. This includes gathering data for the DMP, preparing data for exchange with steel users, and integrating the SMARTChain platform for steelmakers.

3 Deliverables, 1 Milestone

WP6 [Months 19-30] - Digital tools for steel products manufacturing  optimizationLeader: RINA-C

Implement sensor fusion for in-line material quality assessment and develop an integrated sensing solution for product quality evaluation. Additionally, models will be created to correlate material properties with product quality, and the SMARTChain platform will be integrated for steel users.

3 Deliverables, 1 Milestone

WP7 [Months 19-36] - Steel vaue chain- secure data exchangeLeader: ICCS

Establish a regulated and secure data exchange along the value chain while implementing DMP and DPP. Additionally, it will develop an integrated Decision Support System (DSS) based on AI models for global optimization and create a supply chain optimization module.

2 Deliverables, 1 Milestone

WP8 [Months 24-36] - Demonstration and validationLeader: SIJ ACRONI DOO

Define a comprehensive test validation plan and demonstrate the integrated solution within the selected use cases. Additionally, it will assess results, extract key lessons learned, and conduct a skill gap analysis to develop a training program for operators, ensuring effective adoption of the new technologies.

4 Deliverables, 1 Milestone

WP9 [Months 1-18] -WP10 [Months 19-36] - Dissemination & Communication & Exploitation - Leader: CSM SPA

Maximizing the impact and outreach of the project's results through effective dissemination and communication to relevant audiences. It also aims to ensure proper protection of generated results, define the post-project phase for commercial exploitation, and analyze market needs across sectors to identify opportunities and address potential market failures.
